How to sign in to OmniStor Manager

First time using OSM? This guide walks you through every step — from opening your browser to seeing the main dashboard. The whole thing takes less than a minute.

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

  • ✅ A computer connected to the company network
  • ✅ A mainstream browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari are all fine)
  • The OSM backend URL (obtain from your company IT department, for example https://omnistor.your-company.com/osm/)
  • Administrator account and password (also from IT)

💡 Setting up a fresh installation?

If you're the person installing the system, the default admin account is admin and the default password is @administrator1. Change this password immediately after your first sign-in.

Here's the complete four-step flow on loop. Watch it once to get a feel for the whole process:

Step 1: Enter the OSM URL in your browser

Open your preferred browser, paste the URL provided by IT into the address bar, and press Enter.

💡 Tip OSM is not a standalone app; it is a website — so you can log in from any device that can open a browser.

Step 2: Enter your username and password

On the login page, you will see fields for username and password. Enter the administrator account and password provided by IT.

If you want to change the language, click the language menu in the upper right corner of the screen. Currently supported languages are: Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English

Step 3: Click the “Login” button

After entering your username and password, click the blue “Login” button.

Step 4: Done! You have entered the OSM homepage

Once logged in successfully, you will see the OSM homepage. The screen includes:

  • Left menu: Four main function areas (Platform Management / User Management / Platform Records / Sharing Management)
  • Upper center section: Statistical charts for space, accounts, and file types
  • Middle section: Real-time status of various service components
  • Bottom: Login counts from the past 30 minutes

What to do if login fails?

Recommendations

  • Do not use the default password online: Change the admin password immediately after the first login
  • Do not share administrator accounts: Each IT staff should have their own account to facilitate tracking of actions
  • Restrict IPs that can log in: It is recommended to set an IP whitelist in OSM (only allow company intranet or VPN)
  • Remember to log out when leaving your computer: Especially on shared computers

💬 Having trouble? Most login issues are related to IP whitelisting or passwords. Please ask IT to confirm whether your computer’s IP is on the whitelist and to reset your password again; this usually resolves the problem.
