How you reset your OmniStor password depends on your account type. This article helps you identify the type and walks through the right reset flow.
Before You Begin: Confirm Your Account Type
OmniStor supports multiple account types, and the password reset path differs. Contact MIS or your admin to confirm which type your account is:
Account Type | Password Reset Method |
|---|---|
OmniStor local account created by an administrator in the OmniStor Manager backend | Use the OmniStor "Forgot Password" process, see steps below |
Windows AD / LDAP Account | Please reset your password through your company's account management system or contact your system administrator. |
SSO Account | Please reset your password via your company's authentication platform or login portal password reset mechanism, or ask your system administrator for assistance. |
If your account was created by an admin in OmniStor Manager (OSM), follow these steps:
Open the OmniStor app or web client. On the sign-in page, tap Forgot password at the bottom right.
Enter your service URL — the system redirects to the password reset page.
On the Forgot password page, enter your account (OmniStor ID) and the CAPTCHA.
After verification, the system sends a password reset notification email to your inbox.
Open the email and follow the instructions to reset your password.
Sign in with the new password.
Verify It Worked
Return to the OmniStor app or web client and sign in with the new password. If you reach the main screen, the reset succeeded.
Common Issues
No reset email arrived? Check your spam folder, or wait a few minutes and retry. If it still doesn't arrive, contact your admin.
Tapping "Forgot password" does nothing? Confirm the service URL is correct. If the app still doesn't respond, try the web client.
Not sure if your account is OSM, AD, or SSO? Contact MIS or your admin.
Can't sign in even after resetting? Double-check the new password, confirm your account isn't locked, and contact your admin if needed.
