Symptoms
You uploaded a file, but the system shows Upload failed or the file didn't reach the cloud.
Cause
OmniStor has automatic retry, but if the connection drops for too long, the upload can still fail. As a safety net, OmniStor moves failed uploads to the Problem Files directory.
Failed files are renamed:
{upload-fail-time} _ {original-name}.{ext}Solution: Open Problem Files and Recover
- Click the OmniStor Drive icon in the taskbar to open the Activity window.
- Click Settings in the top right. Select Locate Failed Uploads.
- The system opens the ProblemFiles / {your-account-name} folder.
- Retrieve the file you need, then re-upload it.
Clean Up Problem Files
After confirming your data is backed up, you can delete files in Problem Files:
- In the ProblemFiles folder, select files to delete.
- Press Delete. Files go to the Recycle Bin.
- Empty the Recycle Bin to free up disk space.
If your system drive is low on space, check Problem Files first — failed uploads may be using disk space.
Prevention
- For bulk uploads, avoid disconnecting the network or shutting down mid-transfer.
- After upload, check the Activity window and confirm every file shows Upload succeeded.
